Death by PowerPoint

So true. Poor PowerPoint use was to be one of the original 10 deadly sins but it got bumped at the last minute by, "thou shall not covet thy neighbour." This is a wonderful presentation about sharpening PowerPoint presentations.

Concept Mapping

Concept mapping is a teaching method which assists in the learning of complex concepts by depicting them graphically. This method was first developed by Joseph Novak at Cornell University. It is well described on the internet. Many articles are available describing its method. The Journal, "The Science Teacher" is available electronically through the U of S Library and has a number of articles on concept mapping. There is also an excellent primer on concept mapping through Wikipedia.
