New Year Party 2008
Dear friends,
We cordially invite you to participate in the Sinhala & Tamil New Year Party 2008 of Saskatoon Sri Lanka Community.
Date: Saturday 26th April 2008
Venue: The Albert Community Centre, 610 Clarence Ave.S. Saskatoon
Time: Starts at 5.30 p.m.
The program includes many fun filled items/activities including traditional avurudu games. We are happy to inform you some of them.
For children:
· Fancy dress contest (Vikata endum tharagaya) - Please be ready and train your kids to do a short performance (approximately 1 minute) relevant to their fancy dress costumes.
· Bun eating race (banis kema)
· Blowing balloons (Ballum pimbeema)
· Sack race (goani race)
· Tug of war (kamba adeema)
· Piñata (kana muttiya bideema)
For adults
· Sack race
· Tug of war
· Threading the needle (indhi kattata noola demeema)
