HigherEd Blogcon Starts April 3 and Week 1 Focuses on Teaching in Higher Education
HigherEd BlogCon runs from April 3-28 and will the topic of "transforming academic communities with new tools of the social web" and the sessions (except a couple of workshops from CASE) are freely available to anyone who can participate by listening to podcasts, reading, commenting and discussing the presentations.
Some of the teaching related topics include:
- An empirical test of blogging in the classroom
- Blogs as personal learning environments
- How the integrated use of blogs and Blackboard can improve a university public relations class: A case study
Each week has a theme.
Week 1 April 3-7 - Teaching
Week 2 April 10-14 - Library and Information Resources
Week 3 April 17-21 - Admissions, Alumni Relations, and Communications & Marketing
Week 4 April 24-28 - Websites & Web Development
