Adding authors to your blogs
You can now use the AUTHORS menu to add more authors to your blogs and to manage their permissions. The AUTHORS menu may be found on the right-hand side of the Movable Type main page, and on the left-hand side of the system overview page.
Movable Type normally lets blog owners create and manage accounts for anyone they like, using any usernames they like, but our license only allows us to provide blogs for U of S faculty, staff and students. The original AUTHORS menu also let users see all the usernames of everyone on the system, which was a privacy concern.
To address these concerns, we originally disabled the AUTHORS menu. Now, due to popular demand, we've created a limited version of this menu that lets you add authors to your blogs by typing in their NSIDs. You can also see a list of all the authors for each of your blogs, and manage their permissions.
Note that if you give someone Blog Administrator permission for a blog, then they will be able to add other authors to the blog as well, or, for that matter, they will be able to take away your permissions.
