Statistics Canada has released analysis and data products on population and dwelling counts from the 2011 Census of Population. This is the first of four releases. Upcoming releases will focus on population by age and sex (May 29, 2012), families, households, marital status, structural type of dwelling and collectives (September 19, 2012) and language (October 24, 2012). As of February 1, 2012, self-serve standard products available on the Statistics Canada website—including CANSIM and census data products—have become free of charge.
Statistics Canada will maintain current pricing practices for products such as print publications, maps, CD-ROMs, and custom products and services.
Licensing restrictions for the use of Statistics Canada data products have been removed.
The above change does not affect the dissemination of survey data files (microdata files) under the DLI license. These files can only be accessed through either ODESI or EQUINOX . Please contact Data and GIS Library Services via Email if you have any questions.
