U. of I. offers students with disabilities a high-tech dorm
The University of Illinois has new high-tech dormitory rooms designed that will integrate students with disabilities into first-floor residences that feature assistive technology - including remote-controlled lifts, wireless paging systems and sensor-activated faucets. The dorm's upper floors will house students without disabilities in standard rooms. Personal assistants - mainly students who also reside in the building - are available to help students with disabilities complete everyday tasks.
