President Liaison, PD Officers & General Council Positions

Hello everyone!

Now that the acceptance letters are beginning to come out, we're thrilled that we have started to hear from some of the new teacher candidates! We highly recommend you consider joining the E.S.S., as it is a fun way to meet people and get involved in the college! Currently, we are looking for two President Liaisons for our Executive Council and two PD Officers for our General Council.

The duties of the President Liaison are to:

1. Represent the President's views and act on his/her behalf in his/her absence
2. Be the voice of all pre-intern education students at executive meetings
3. Take on tasks as deemed necessary
4. Management of ESS office procedures and organization of ESS office space
5. Attend committee meetings throughout the year as deemed necessary by the President and Executive


The duties of the PD Officers are to:
1. Implement the Professional Development plan as organized, planned and created by the summer Professional Development Program Coordinator
2. Implement and make any necessary updates to the advertising plan as created and organized by the summer Professional Development Program Coordinator
3. Ensure that they are in attendance - or arrange for another member of executive to be in attendance - at all PD opportunities to meet the needs of the facilitator(s) and ensure the event runs smoothly
4. Obtain and record feedback from PD events and ensure it is stored for the next summer's Professional Development Program Coordinator
5. Work in consultation with the VP Admin to keep track of and update the PD Budget as created by the summer Professional Development Program Coordinator
6. Communicate Professional Development Opportunities to other Colleges by whatever means deemed appropriate


If you are interested in applying for either or both of these positions, please write a 200 work maximum platform and email it to contact.ess@usask.ca by July 30th! The annual ESS Executive Retreat is going to be in August, and we want you to join us in the planning and team-building!

There are also many positions available on the General Council in the fall. Elections are held in September and there will be plenty of time to apply for one once classes start! For those of you interested in learning more about the positions sooner rather than later, please email contact.ess@usask.ca. Thanks!
