These training manuals can be accessed from the ITS website on the training page in the PAWS Campus Portal section, by clicking "PAWS Training" under Help & Information on the PAWS login page, and by clicking on "Training and Tutorials" in the Help Centre inside PAWS.

My IT Services (MITS) Now Available

My IT Services (MITS) is a new web application that will allow members of the U of S community to manage or retrieve information for various IT services accessed using the NSID username and password.

MITS incorporates the ability to create and manage aliases previously provided by the Nameserve application and the ability to change your password, check quota information for various services, and forward mail.usask.ca e-mail messages previously provided by the Server and Services Account Management (SSAM) application.

MITS includes several new features as well, such as the ability to:

  • Create secret questions so that you can set a new password if you have forgotten your current one.
  • Set your own vacation/out-of-office auto replies for mail.usask.ca e-mail addresses.
  • Synchronize your password if you have been granted access to additional services.

Technology in the Classroom: Teaching with Clickers

A workshop for instructors on using student response systems in the classroom will be held on Wednesday June 6, 1:00-4:00 p.m. in A203 Health Sciences. This workshop is sponsored by the The Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching Effectiveness.

This workshop will provide an orientation to the hardware and software necessary for using the Turning Technologies Student Response System (SRS, or "clickers") known as TurningPoint. In addition, an introduction to the pedagogical use of clickers in the classroom will be presented.

Workshop participants will be able to:

  • Describe the different types of electronic voting systems available
  • Identify a variety of situations where it can be used to engage learners
  • Demonstrate the use of pedagogical principles for inspiring learner engagement in specific situations
  • Input questions into a presentation using the Turning Technologies software
