Enhanced Password Reset Service

Faculty, students and staff can now reset their NSID password using a text message or their alternate email address, in addition to using the secret questions and answers currently available. You will now be able to spend less time recovering from a lost NSID password, with less need to contact an IT support service for assistance.

To be able to reset your NSID password, you must provide password reset information (mobile number, alternate email address or secret questions and answers) in advance. This is done in PAWS by clicking on the “mobile” link in the announcement channel. New students provide this information when they first use their NSIDs. Validation of the mobile number and the alternate email address is required. The sign-up page provides information about this process. Mobile numbers provided for password reset will also be used for PAWS targeted announcements and vice versa.

To reset a password, navigate to the PAWS login page and click “Forgot your password?” to start the process. Information about the process is provided on that page.

For assistance with this service enhancement, please contact the ITS Help Desk, help.desk@usask.ca.
