Sandy Lake First Nation, Ground Zero For Diabetes

Sandy Lake First Nation, located 300 kilometres Northeast of Winnipeg has the dubious distinction of having a population where 25% of the people have diabetes, the highest rate in Canada and the third highest in the world.
