New Brunswick First Nations Council Asks To Halt NB Power Sale
The Wolastoqewiyik Traditional Council of Tobic plans to issue an injunction against the proposed sale of parts of NB (New Brunswick) Power to Hydro-Quebec. They allege that the deal is illegal because the natural resources involved belong to First Nations and were never given up. The council's injunction is to be presented to the premiers of New Brunswick and Quebec on Thursday.
