B.C. Native Elder Reaches Out To Russian Ice Dance Team
Tewanee Joseph, CEO of the Four Host First Nations sent a prayer of support to Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin after he was asked to meet them at the athletes village to disucss their aboriginal-themed costumes. After hearing how their intent was to pay respect to Indigenous peoples in Asia, Mr. Joseph gave the two ice dancers and the coaches traditional Coast Salish blankets.
