Metis people can now research and connect to their roots at the new Genealogical and Archival Research Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The centre houses records dating back to the 1700's that will help educate people in terms of the history and contributions of Metis people. The centre will also have a registry that will help establish how many Metis people live in Saskatchewan, where they are located, and will aid in clarifying and formalizing citizenship requirements.
