Shawn Atleo Leads After First Ballot For AFN National Chief

Incumbent Shawn Atleo, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) led after the first round balloting in the race to become the next national chief of the AFN. He received 284 of a possible 540 votes cast. There are 633 chiefs eligible to vote and 60% of the vote is required for a winner to be declared.
