Federal Government Cuts First Nations Funding

Recent cuts by the Harper government will help sustain the Prime Minister's campaign to silence potential critics according to a University of Saskatchewan political studies professor. Charles Smith stated, "This is nothing new for them." The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) will see its core funding cut by two thirds, from $1.6 million to $500,000.
