Mexican Holiday: Day 7 (Many Partings)

From the halls of Montizuma to the buses for home ...

Saturday Feb. 24 I woke up with a bit of an upset stomach and a headache. Think I may be getting a touch of Montizuma's Revenge. Or more likely just adjusting to the heat. Nothing that an immodium and asprin couldn't fix.

I met up with my parents and Trevor's family about 9:30. They already had all the bags packed ready for the bellboys to pick up. Here's a shot of the bellboys, with the electric trolley they use to haul the bags around.

Trevor and Tammy headed up to the Club Diamond reception to check out. Below is a picture of them at the checkout. Tammy's mom and dad on the left, next Tammy's aunt and uncle, then Tammy and Trevor with Gregory in the front.

We then went down to the Tulum lobby to meet the bus. People kept showing up to either get on the bus or see the others off. Below is a picture of all the new inlaws.

Dad was still not feeling well (he spent most of the last few days sick in bed). He was glad to be going home. Turns out he had an infection which he thinks started back home before he left for vacation. Here's a picture of my Dad waiting for the bus at the Tulum Lobby steps.

We had the typical minor emergencies. Braedon lost his stuffed dolphin so Trevor had to go find it for him. Logan disappeared and everyone was worried he was going to miss the bus (until he showed up at 10:00 about 20 minutes before the bus was to arrive).

Eventually we got everyone onto the bus and they were off to home. That leaves me, and a few people from Tammy's side of the family to stay for the next week. Here's a picture of the bus for home coming down the entrance to the Tulum lobby, with the Hacienda Dona Isabel in the background.

After they left, I bought some sunscreen and a t-shirt in the lobby shop. Then had some lunch at the Yucitan.

I then spent the afternoon on the beach. Our hotel is at the north end of the resort. I walked the entire length of the beach to the south end of the resort, about 2 km. Went past the boats that take the para-sailers out. Sat there most of the afternoon.

When I got back to the room about 4:30 I was pretty tired, so I took a siesta.

The towel buddy today was a teddy bear.
