UCommute: An Exciting New Service in PAWS
UCommute is an exciting new program to help you conveniently and securely find commuting partners for carpooling, walking, biking or riding the bus. This program is available in PAWS to all University of Saskatchewan faculty, staff, and students.
UCommute is more than a matching service. The "Log my Commute" function allows users to record their individual commutes to be able to track statistics like greenhouse gases saved, fuel used, and even calories burned.
To access U-Commute:
1) Log into PAWS at paws.usask.ca
2) Look on the Home tab to locate the UCommute channel
3) Once you have read the information there, click on the ‘Proceed’ button
4) Follow the simple step-by-step instructions to sign up.
UCommute gives you the option to choose from 12 different pickup and drop off locations on campus and shows your planned route with the help of Google Maps. The software that supports UCommute is secure and easy-to-use, ensuring that you are matched only with someone who works or studies on campus.
This initiative is to help members of the campus community choose more sustainable modes of transportation for commuting. Promoting sustainable transportation is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to promoting sustainability on campus.
