The U of S Physical Activity Complex (PAC) and its Fit Centre have been busy places since they opened in September 2003.

On Nov. 2, 2005 the building recorded its one millionth card swipe through the turnstile and on Oct. 21 the Fit Centre had its 500,000th visitor. The Fit Centre is meeting expenses and “is not a drain on anything we do,” according to Community Programs Director Paul Rogal.

Besides the Fit Centre, PAC facilities include the large triple gym, a climbing wall, the walk/jog track, swimming pool, racquet courts and a dance studio. The Fit Centre averages 687 visits per day. Its record number of visits in a single day came on both Jan. 10 and Jan. 17, 2005 when 1,853 people worked out. By Oct. 21 3,079 people had taken the wall-climbing course. About 2,600 users have made just over 28,500 racquet court bookings since the facility opened.

U of S students have PAC memberships through payment of their annual student fees.
