One of the Huskie football team's most ardent fans – Commerce Professor Graham Links – is eagerly awaiting the hosting of the Vanier Cup national championship game at the U of S next Nov. 25.

Links was in the stands during the Huskies' losing 24-23 Vanier Cup battle against Wilfrid Laurier in Hamilton Dec. 3, and he's been through every Huskie pass, run and touchdown at all eight of their Vanier Cup appearances since 1989 – three victories and five losses.

“I try to co-ordinate their fall schedule with mine,” says Links, a U of S professor since 1974. During the regular season over the past 16 years, he has also travelled to most out-of-town games and bundled up in his reserved seat at Griffiths’ Stadium for home games. His office is papered with Huskie paraphernalia.

Links looks forward to Nov. 25, when the Vanier Cup will be held at the U of S, the first time it will be held outside Ontario. Renovations will be done to the stadium this year to add seating, lights and artificial turf to get it ready for the national championship game.
