CROOKS NOMINATED FOR CIS ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AWARD

University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's basketball player Sarah Crooks has been named one of eight nominees for the prestigious Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) Awards for the CIS Athletes of the Year.

This marks the third straight year that the University of Saskatchewan has a nominee. Volleyball player Adams Ens was the first-ever nominee from the U of S in 2004 and went on to be named the winner. Last year, pole vaulter Kelsie Hendry became the first-ever female Huskie to be nominated.

Crooks, a 6-foot-2 forward is originally from Fife Lake, Sask.

The BLG Awards will be announced on May 1 and the winners receive $10,000 scholarships.
