Trailer Park Trinity
It may seem like an unlikely place to find God, but one researcher at the University of Saskatchewan has found the Holy Trinity in the television program Trailer Park Boys.
Arlene Stevens, a grad student in religious studies, told a recent meeting of the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion that, “television has become our new church and its players our new prophets.” She admits in a National Post news story that a television show is a very unlikely place to find theological significance but that the show’s overriding moral message makes it ideal Sunday viewing for the non-church-going crowd.
