Doggy Donors
The Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) is searching for pets to donate to the college's blood donor program.
About a dozen cats and three dozen dogs are now part of the program – not nearly enough to meet the need for blood. Potential donors are screened and blood-typed, and can donate once every six weeks. Pets gets free blood work and physical exams, and for owners there is a $25 credit for WCVM services and a small bag of pet food with each visit.
For information on how to enroll a pet in the program, contact the Small Animal Clinic at the WCVM at 966-7126.
