'Bee' an Animator
Mark Matthews of DreamWorks Animation, whose credits include Bee Movie, used some of the characters he helped create to illustrate a speech he gave recently to prospective U of S students.
The graduate of computer science returned to campus May 1 to deliver the keynote address at the fifth annual Digitized 2008 conference. Matthews talked about visual artistry, his work as a rigger with DreamWorks and the influence of computer science in animation. Besides Bee Movie, Matthews was worked on Shrek the Third and Kung Fu Panda. About 200 high school students from the Saskatoon area attended Digitized 2008.
