Academic Integrity Awareness Week 2008, at the U of S

If you’re smart enough to study here, and if you’re smart enough to work here, then you’re smart enough to CITE.

Academic Integrity Week at the University of Saskatchewan takes place Sept. 29-Oct. 4, 2008, sponsored by the Office of the University Secretary, the University Learning Centre, the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching Effectiveness and the University of Saskatchewan Students' Union.

Many academic dishonesty cases arise from writers neglecting to cite sources so students and staff alike should cite sources properly. But there are other ways to be academically dishonest. To find out more, read the U of S rules, regulations, and guidelines for academic integrity.

When everyone reads up on the rules, asks questions, does their own work, and cites carefully, misunderstandings, embarrassment, grade reductions, hearings and even expulsion can be avoided.

Visit our resource page to find out what you need to know about academic integrity.

There are a number of informative and helpful workshops and events planned for this year’s Academic Integrity Awareness Week. Register online.

The week's keynote address will be given by Alec Couros from the University of Regina Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Convocation Hall. The title of the address is Academic Integrity and the Culture of Sharing.
