Although it was possible to customize PAWS in the past, some changes to the system by the PAWS team will allow users to drag and drop their windows, tabs and personal options, and streamline their preferences. Basically, users can make their PAWS work for them.

“Customizing used to be so onerous,” said Colin Skrapek, a designer for the new PAWS. “The drag function will be much easier.”

Skrapek demonstrates how easy it is to add new channels with a quick click. U of S channels like the Student Update or information channels like the Wikipedia article of the day can be added or removed any time. Channels can then be moved around using a drag and drop type interface. The process is smooth and straightforward.

The new PAWS will have a slightly different look and feel. Users can try out the new customized PAWS when they log in for the next month or so and feedback is encouraged so SESD can continue to improve PAWS for the user.

To log in to the new PAWS, watch for the message on the login page that says: "We're working on a new look and feel. Try the new PAWS and send us your feedback!"
