The event will include a short program, a ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the newly renovated area. Speaking at this event will be Nicholas Fraser, president, GSA, and Vera Pezer, U of S chancellor.

“The GSA and the U of S have long shared the goal of creating a space to meet the academic and social needs of graduate students,” said Fraser. “The Graduate Student Commons will help further develop the vibrant grad student community. It illustrates our commitment to provide an innovative and engaging graduate experience.”

Built in the former Emmanuel and St. Chad Chapel, the GSA Commons features stained glass windows and vaulted ceilings, and houses a boardroom, offices, and space to study and socialize. This project was funded by the GSA, the U of S and various partners.

Time: Friday, January 15 from 4 - 6 p.m.

Place: Graduate Student Commons (formerly the Emmanuel and St. Chad Chapel), 1337 College Drive, Saskatoon
