From Brown to Orange

Living in our present house for the last eight years, we have been very busy with renovations. We've replaced floor coverings all throughout, spent countless hours painting, replaced the furnace and water heater, even jackhammered and re-poured heaved concrete in the basement. Yes, we upgraded almost everything... except, the kitchen cabinets. Until now.

----

I have to admit, I'm not sure why we waited so many years. I know that I personally wasn't looking forward to taking all of the cabinet doors off, sanding them, priming them, painting them, and then putting them back on with new hardware. Nope, wasn't wanting to do that at all. But it's just work, and it's certainly less work than the basement renovations of last summer.

Now that we bought a new house, and this house is for sale, we thought that we should finally get around to paining the cabinets. We wouldn't want people to not buy our house just because the cabinets were an ugly brown.

So without forther delay: the pictures...

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Astute readers with a critical eye will notice that the colour of the table changes from one picture to the next, so truthfully those two photographs are not an honest representation of the before and after. But they're pretty close. (The top picture is a daytime shot with natural lighting, and the bottom picture is a nighttime shot with fluorescent lighting)
