Dawn Of a New Age (Bracket)

It was only recently that I turned 37 years old. Little did I know that I had passed some sort of milestone age...

----

Being strongly oriented to base ten counting, our society seems to place a large amount of emphasis on the decade birthdays.... 20, 30, 40. When we hit one of these ages, our friends take pleasure in reminding us of the new expectations that society will place on us.

So I was comfortably coasting along in my mid-30's, then just turned 37, not expecting to suddenly feel any older, as I wasn't nearing the dreaded milestone age of 40. But then one day shortly after my birthday, I was filling out a form on a web site, and came to the part where they asked for my age. The ages were grouped as such:

See the division? The 36 year olds are in the same age bracket as the 25 year olds, but the 37 year old are in with the 48 year olds. How is that fair?!?! One day my tastes and interests are similar to a 25 year old person, but the next day I'm in with the 48 year old people??

I call foul.
