We're All Complicated

And we're all special, too, aren't we? :) The thing about it is, of course, that some times we forget this. It takes a little reminder from someone else to make us not only appreciate our differences (yes, we should) but also to realize that the true depth of other people may not be evident on the surface.

It's Hard to Be Humble

Because I was able to play, and because my grandparents were proud of this and liked to listen to me playing, I was asked to play a piece for their 50th wedding anniversary. I accepted, and agreed to play one of my Nana's favorite songs, "Moon River"...

Do As I Say, And You Will Learn Nothing

It was 1988, near the end of grade 12, when I really learned the hard way that showing someone how to do something is not the same as teaching them to do it. I've carried this lesson with me, and I'm still reminded of it at least once every few months...
