U of S Senate By-Election
The USSU is pleased to work in cooperation with the University of Saskatchewan to ensure that each year there is a full compliment of elected Student Senators. According to the University of Saskatchewan Act, Senate is responsible for recommendations regarding the establishment or disestablishment of any college, school, or department; appointing examiners for and making bylaws respecting the conduct of examinations for professional societies; the granting of honorary degrees, and non-academic student discipline. The Act also specifies that Senate will have six Student Senators elected by the University’s largest constituent group, undergraduate students. In normal circumstances Student Senators are elected during the General Election in March. However, this year there is a need for a by-election to fill four of the Senate places. This by-election will take place on October 8th and 9th through voting on PAWS. Be sure to vote and have your voice count.
