SASKATOON TRANSIT EXPERIENCING DELAYS AND DIFFICULTIES WITH OVERLOADED BUSES
Every September, Saskatoon Transit and its customers experience an adjustment period as ridership numbers jump significantly to accommodate students returning to school and regular commuters returning from summer vacation. Saskatoon Transit is making adjustments to its service to accommodate these increases in capacity by placing extra buses in service to handle the most critical overloading and scheduling issues. We also remind passengers that some buses may not stop if they are already at capacity, and to please be patient as another bus should be along shortly.
This year, the adjustment period includes increased traffic restrictions due to the significant number of roadway, bridge and water and sewer projects under construction. We expect this pressure to ease as construction season wraps up.
Saskatoon Transit apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by some of its customers and thanks all customers for their continued patience. Saskatoon Transit is working hard to resolve concerns.
