The purpose of Mental Health Awareness Week is to raise awareness of mental health issues such as addictions, mood disorders, body image disorders, coping, grief, the positive effects of nutritious eating and an active lifestyle.
The campus hosts a large variety of resources and support for such issues but many students remain unaware of either the resource/support or the mental health issue they may be facing. Many students do not realize that DSS and Student Counseling provide support for mental health issues and that there are plenty of resources available.
The week will also be promoting training services offered by the Help Centre (ASIST and Mental Health First Aid) and peer support groups offered by the USSU. Visit the Arts tunnel all week for more information.

Last day to apply for Term 2 exemptions is January 18,2010. Completed forms are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Exemption forms may be submitted to the USSU Exemption Office, next to the Information Centre in Upper Place Riel.
Visit ussu.ca for more information.
