EVENTS 2009 - 2010

• Lunchtime talks put on this year:
- Exotic Animal Emergencies
- Non-Infectious Diseases of Wild Birds
- Avian Ophthalmology
- Numerous lunchtime rounds

• WEAMS Fieldtrip to Calgary
- Great time had by all! Visited:
- Cochrane Ecological Institute: toured their facilities, learned about their swift fox captive breeding progam, saw some of their current residents
- Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation: toured their facilities, had a hands-on post-mortem type lab, looked at injured wildlife radiographs, met their education ambassadors Blackjack the Swainson's Hawk and Marigold the skunk, saw some of their current patients including a bobcat, beaver, porcupine, muskrats and a goose
- Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society: toured their facilities with one of their volunteer veterinarians, met some of their education animals including Oberon the one winged Great Horned Owl, saw some of their current patients
- Calgary Zoo: toured the Health facilities with one of the Calgary Zoo veterinarians, spent some time touring the exhibits
